The showing is located on the northwest flank of Redslide Mountain, which is on the east side of Morice Lake. It is underlain by Jurassic Hazelton Group andesite and volcanic breccia which have been intruded toward the south by a small granite plug and dikes and tongues of monzonite porphyry. Variable amounts of pyrite with some associated chalcopyrite occur as disseminations and along fractures in the volcanics, particularly near intrusive contacts. Stronger mineralization occurs in one area where pyrite and chalcopyrite are found in silicified fracture zones in the volcanics. The zones trend north-northeasterly and are up to 30 centimetres wide. In general, the copper mineralization is weak, restricted and erratic in distribution. Very minor molybdenite has been reported.
The RD claims were originally staked by El Paso Minerals Limited in 1972. Over the next two years, geological mapping and soil sampling were completed on the claims. Several weak copper soil anomalies, believed to be related to copper mineralization along fracture zones were found. A sinuous molybdenum soil anomaly was also outlined over 900 metres.
